Eduardo Mailat

Building things, exploring ideas, and figuring out how everything works.

I study Computer Science and Engineering at UTCN. I build my own apps, take things apart to see how they work, and spend the rest of my time on a basketball court or somewhere with no signal.

Right now, probablywriting code

(01)About

I like understanding how things work — and the best way I know is to build them myself.

I'm a Computer Science and Engineering student at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. A lot of what I've learned outside of lectures came from the same loop: pick an idea, open an editor, get stuck, and keep going until it actually works.

I'm drawn to software and mobile apps, curious about AI, and still the person who wants to know what's inside the case. But I'm not only at a desk — I play basketball, lift, run, travel whenever I can, and will happily trade a bed for a tent somewhere in the mountains.

    The developer

Studies computer science, builds his own apps, and enjoys the moment a stubborn bug finally gives up.

  2. ii.

    The tinkerer

Picks up new languages, frameworks, and ideas just to see what they can do — and what breaks.

  3. iii.

    The person

Basketball, the gym, CS2, chess, music, long trips, and nights spent in a tent on a mountain.

QR Household Storage Manager

Know what’s inside every box without opening a single one.

A small, practical problem: boxes pile up in the attic, the garage, under the bed, and nobody remembers what went where. Each box gets a QR code. Scan it with your phone and you see exactly what’s inside — photos, descriptions, and where the box lives. Households can be shared, and anyone without the app can still open a web view of a box’s contents.

Multiplayer Trivia Game

A loud, competitive trivia night that fits in your pocket.

A mobile party game inspired by social trivia games like Fight List. Players go head to head across different categories, rack up points, and compete with friends. The goal is something instantly understandable — simple interface, fast rounds — with enough competitive edge and cosmetic customisation to keep people coming back.

Something new is always half-built in a folder somewhere. This space is reserved for whatever ships next.

(03)Beyond the screen

Off the keyboard.

Code is a big part of my life, but not all of it. The rest happens on courts, trails, and long drives — usually with something playing in the background.

Basketball

My biggest interest outside of tech. Playing it, watching it, following every game — I love the competitive side of it.

a.The court

Gym & strength

Strength training keeps me sharp on the court, and the discipline of showing up carries over into everything else.

Running

Slowly getting faster, mostly by not stopping. It's also where a lot of my better ideas show up.

b.Outdoors

Hiking, camping, and nights in a tent — where the phone is mostly a flashlight.

I like long trails, cold mornings, and the kind of quiet you only get when the nearest road is hours away. Pitching a tent after a full day of walking is still one of the best feelings there is.

c.Travel

I'd rather see a place than read about it.

New cities, new roads, new food. Travelling is how I reset — and how I remember how much there still is to discover.

d.Gaming

Competitive & story-driven.

e.Music

Always something playing.

While coding, while training, on the road. Music is the background track to pretty much everything on this page.

f.Hardware & tech

Still the person who wants to know what's inside the case.

Components, builds, benchmarks, new chips, and whatever AI is doing this week. Software makes more sense when you understand the machine it runs on.
